Luxe Listings: TLD's Top 8 Bakeries in Dubai 1

Dubai does a lot of things very well. Truly, we have some of the best restaurants, beach clubs, spas… the list goes on. But do you know what deserves equal praise? The number of incredible bakeries.

There’s something about the smell of freshly baked bread, still warm from the oven, or flaky, buttery pastries that makes us take leave of our senses. A nice little accompaniment to your morning coffee, or a cheeky afternoon indulgence – we are here for it!

So, of course we had to round up our favorite haunts and share them with you, naturally.

First on our hit list is Risen, a homegrown cafe and artisan bakery focusing on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. Their menu is vast, but not over complicated, offering both classic and specialty confectioneries, as well as a wide range of artisanal breads – the brioche and focaccia are particularly good. Don’t forget to sample their double-baked chocolate cookie croissant, available throughout May for World Baking Day. It is next level indulgence, but oh so worth it.

Did you know that the first loaf of bread was baked more than 14,000 years ago? It’s this that forms For The Love of Bread’s mission: to help people love and enjoy bread again. Championing 100% organic ingredients, their range of breads are milled the old way, using traditional stones that preserve the nutrient dense bran and germ. The result is incredibly tasty, with an added bonus of being easy to digest too. Offering free home delivery and stocked in over 50 locations across the UAE, their sourdough is accessible for all which gets a big tick from us.

Priding itself on being for ‘French Food Lovers’ Odeon is nestled in the heart of Jumeirah Beach Road, a beacon of white with navy enticing you in on the approach. Offering a unique blend of culinary experiences, whether that’s eating in the restaurant, browsing their in-house market, or grabbing a coffee and croissant to go, you’ll feel like you’re stepping into a French boulangerie, as opposed to a villa in the Dubai desert. Don’t leave without sampling their range of canelé – you’ll wonder how you went so long without trying one!

Founded in 2019, Birch Bakery is one of Dubai’s most popular bakeries, serving the community wholesome, nutritious bread. It’s this passion that’s apparent in all of their bakes, using traditional bread baking methods (their sourdough loaves are hand shaped and fermented for over 20 hours!) to create a menu bursting with taste and flavor. Their Viennoiseries are equally delectable, fusing sweet, salty, and buttery together in new ways, or ensuring the classics are done very well indeed.

Location: Al Quoz, Dubai | Time: 7am – 3pm

While a lot of bakeries go down the artisan route, Artisan Bakers have gone one step further, using it to inform their identity and influence how they craft their products. With a big focus on combining the best textures and flavors, their handcrafted breads, pastries, and cakes take some beating on the aesthetics front. Make sure to check out their cheese room too while you’re there. Featuring a collection of cheeses sourced from all over the world, we didn’t need to be asked twice!

Location: 3 Umm Suqeim St – Umm Suqeim

Possibly the coolest bakery in Dubai. We know, big statement for a small-batch bakery, however there’s something very appealing about the brand philosophy; authentic, genuine, and simple. While they specialize in creating fresh hand-made rustic breads, flaky viennoiseries and savory bites, Bageri Form is known for constantly elevating their menu with fresh takes on classics. The open plan kitchen heightens the whole experience, so you can take in the process of baking from start to finish. Warning: serious mouthwatering will ensue.
