Swarovski Opens Creative Centre in Dubai Design District.
Marking its commitment to promoting creativity in the designsphere, Swarovski launches the Swarovski Creative Center in Dubai Design District (d3), an inspiring hub for the Middle East’s burgeoning design community providing a platform for education, innovation and inspiration.
The Swarovski Creative Center is now open to the public, providing a hub for the development of design talent in the UAE and the Middle East – across fashion, jewelry, art and film.
It will do this in three ways: providing a space for innovation, inspiration and learning; offering materials, equipment and training for design and crystal application; and creating a hub for collaboration and new business opportunities.
The versatile 1,940 sq. ft. (180 sq. m.) space can be adapted to host creative workshops, talks, exhibitions and events. Nadj a Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, shared, “It is a pleasure to reaffirm our commitment to innovative design thinking and education with the new Swarovski Creative Center in Dubai. We look forward to seeing it become an inspirational hub for design in the region, helping to enable creative talent to develop and thrive.” Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, COO of Dubai Design District, added, “d3 are delighted to welcome the first Swarovski Creative Center ever to launch in the Middle East. We are dedicated to creating a truly inclusive creative ecosystem that incorporates design from every facet of the industry both design and innovation are key pillars to d3 and so we are proud to welcome this inspiring facility into the community to enable us to equip, promote, and nurture our next generation of design talent.”
This September, Anjali Srinivasan’s ‘Unda’ is on display. The six metre long installation is a rolling wave surface that combines glass elements with innovative Touch Crystal technology, which illuminates in response to human touch.

An architectural interface for crystal drawing, light travels across the crystal surface following the finger’s trail and slowly fades when the human interaction is taken away. Highlighting the importance of bringing light to people’s lives and making it tactile and tangible, the installation presents an awe-inspiring ph enomenon, captured in crystal. Swarovski Creative Center is at the Mezzanine Level, Unit M04, Building 7, The Design Quarter, Dubai Design District (d3).
