Just launched, SLAB, a home-grown concept of a social eatery brings to Dubai a unique menu of dishes inspired by all corners of the world. With beautiful presentations and rich flavours at the forefront of their offering, dining at SLAB is bound to touch all your senses.
A sea-facing restaurant, SLAB is spread across 3,344 sqft, and offers Indoor and Patio setting with uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s iconic skyline. The interiors boast an uber-chic contemporary décor in tones of grey and white, along with an open kitchen and exposed preparation counters where guests can see their food being prepared. The grey tones of the interiors accentuate the vibrant colours of the dishes that are served.
Launched under the creative direction of entrepreneur Fadi Al-Said, an Investment Banker with a passion for food, the concept of SLAB was inspired by his endless travels and culinary experiences from all around the world. Explaining the concept, Fadi says “We wanted to create a social eatery that is inspired by global food trends and has an evolving menu that would celebrate the best produce of the season and international flavours through fine-crafted sandwiches and simple experimental dishes.”
Al Said also played an integral part in the curation of the menu, which cleverly redefines everyday favorites by infusing new ingredients and flavors resulting in a truly vibrant and well-thought-out menu. Talking about the menu, he says, “SLAB has given me a wonderful opportunity to curate a menu that features the simplest of dishes created with unique methods and gourmet ingredients. The menu reflects the brand’s minimalistic essence along with a creative fusion and neat food presentation. We wanted to create masterpieces that are soulful for both the eyes and taste buds.”
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, SLAB has something for every time of the day. With an exquisite menu that has been inspired by different eras, cultures and aspirations, look out for their starring sandwich, West Bank, with its fragrant roasted chicken on a sour-dough bread with caramelized onions, pine seeds and Sumak. Making excellent use of seasonal produce, the restaurant’s approach to salads will make for a unique experience, especially their signature Charred Ricotta which heirloom tomatoes, fennel dressed with seeds and lemon vinaigrette.
