SEAN CONNOLLY at Dubai OPERA – one of our FAVOURITE brunches in Dubai…
Expect a relaxed afternoon with premium flavours and excellent service, all while gently rocking to the cool beats of the super DJ.
The Concept.
At The Luxe Diary our penchant is for the continental brunch style & we love being served. Sean Connolly makes no exception to this luxe dining preference.
The Garden Brunch concept is starters to share and mains are selected from generous range of gourmet meat, fish and vegetarian options.
The Food.
We enjoy starting our visit at the Oyster bar where we sample delectable fresh oysters shucked to order from Ireland, France and even Dibba.
The green pea guacamole in gem lettuce boats are a great touch. Also of note is the sashimi fish salad with chili mayonnaise as well as the prawn ponzu, radish and wasabi.
However, the unmissable start starter in our books is Sean Connolly’s signature grilled white peaches, buffalo mozzarella and pistacchio pesto! The combination is well balanced and each ingredient adds its own flavour and texture – a real favourite.
The Mains.
We find the sustainable sea bass en papillote with basil and fregole delicious and the King crab & chili linguine light, flavoursome and perfectly elevated with more than a hint of piquant chili.
The Ocean rib-eye with miso hollandaise is hearty and warming. The carrots grand-mère melt in the mouth like butter and are delicious.
The mains are accompanied by rich & indulgent duck fat thick slab chips.
The Desserts.
Our favourite on the day is the Torta Caprese with Chantilly cream & sugared almonds.
Torta Caprese is an almond based chocolate cake originally from the island of Capri in Italy – without flour and gluten free it is a perfect alternative to the ubiquitous fondant!
You cannot leave any Sean Connolly brunch without tasting the Lemon Tart à la Marco either – so tangy and yet balanced and not too rich. We love it.
The Little Added Extra…
This an elegant and inclusive brunch where you can expect to have a sophisticated experience with quality wines and champagne but where your kids will also have fun.
The under 12’s menu is brilliant and on our visit the kids were kept occupied with Storm Trooper masks and Light Sabres under the watchful eye of competent and welcoming staff.
