Last Chance to See Heat by Mario Testino at D3 Dubai – Until April 15th
Until 15 April you can still catch HEAT, Mario Testino OBE’s exhibition open to the public at Dubai Design District (D3). The show marks Mario Testino’s first ever show in the Middle East. The exhibition is curated by Simon and Michaela de Pury, of De Pury De Pury and sponsored by the UAE based Ginza Group.
Commenting on the exhibition Mario Testino said “I am so excited that my work is being exhibited in the Middle East, in Dubai, for the first time. My endless curiosity has contributed to the diversity of my work, and this curiosity extends to the different cultures, people and places I have explored throughout my career”.
The collection consists of a variety of works including some of the iconic Kate Moss images: so amazingly sharp, striking and beautiful. Shots of his acclaimed Peru series, Alta Moda, have been included in the show as a tribute to his roots and the strong bond that links him to his home country.
The idea for HEAT was borne out of a meeting of minds and mutual love of art and photography between De Pury De Pury and local arts patron and businessman Khaled AlMheiri, Chairman and Founder of the Ginza Group. They have collaborated to bring Testino’s work and creative influence to Dubai at a time when the city’s creative industries are accelerating.
Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, COO of D3 commented: “We are proud to have collaborated with the Ginza Group, and especially Khaled AlMheiri on this project, to enable D3 to be a part of bringing to Dubai one of the world’s most renowned artists and photographers.”
