Julius Baer, the leading Swiss private banking group, welcomed visitors at the Julius Baer lounge at Art Dubai to reveal its commissioned exhibition created and curated by French artist of Moroccan origin Chourouk Hriech.
Julius Baer hosts exclusive private preview of Chourouk Hriech’s exhibition “A Journey Drawn Through an Archaeology of the Present” at Art Dubai
This marks the artist’s first-ever exhibition in Dubai as the bank bolsters its support to the region’s premier art fair that puts Dubai on the world’s art map. The Julius Baer lounge in Madinat Jumeirah is hosting discussions pertinent to the rest of the event such as art patronage among others. As a main sponsor of the leading art fair, Julius Baer’s presence for the fifth consecutive year is a testament to its ongoing commitment to the art and culture scene in Dubai and across the region.
Visitors got the chance to be the firsts to view the commissioned artwork developed exclusively for the bank’s participation at Art Dubai this year. The exhibition titled “A Journey Drawn Through an Archaeology of the Present” creates a bridge between Switzerland and Dubai following Julius Baer’s growth story. Through her monochromatic artworks, the artist charts Julius Baer’s journey from its origins in Switzerland dating back to 1890 to expanding and establishing a strong foothold in the Middle East, especially Dubai.
The Julius Baer Art Collection features over 5000 works, carefully selected by an expert Art Committee which is a testament to the bank’s ongoing commitment to the Swiss art scene. In addition, the bank focuses on fostering a dynamic blend of both emerging and firmly-established artists in core markets such as Dubai. Chourouk, who will be revealing her artworks for the very first time in Dubai, has been selected as a part of the Bawwaba programme, the newly-introduced gallery section at Art Dubai featuring works by artists from, based in, and/or focused on projects about Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Central and South Asia.
