On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Comptoir 102 is proud to celebrate women through poetry with Clementine du Pontavice‘s exhibition ‘Women, Invisible Gold’.

Come and discover “Des Femmes, l’Or Invisible” (“Women, Invisible Gold”) Exhibition by French Artist and Illustrator Clémentine du Pontavice at Comptoir 102 in Celebration of International Women’s Day. The exhibition celebrates the uniqueness of all women and the illustrations tell the story of their subjects.
To create her artworks for the ever-growing “Des Femmes, l‘Or Invisible“ exhibition, Clémentine meets the women she is illustrating to question them. She then captures very instinctively, what touches her about their personality and achievements, what seems intelligent, surprising, essential. She then makes the portrait in her own way; an embroidered illustration, a song, a text or even a soundtrack.
A Word From The Artist
‘I wish to pay tribute to all women in their diversity to reflect the reality of the world. ALL those who have an incredible journey, a temperament out of the ordinary, a courage to all test, a vibrant desire, an unfailing commitment … ALL women who will cause me an emotion, ALL … regardless of age, environment, by profession … all those who will cross my path, voluntarily or not, during this adventure.
Draw, think, write, sew, sing a constellation of women’s portraits which will allow each and everyone to find themselves in a mirror: This is my idea. Inventing your life and your voice, your way of doing or directing is not a question of gender, but as women represent 52% of the world’s population and it is urgent that they acquire public and economic recognition. They still work too often in the shadows while their actions, their genius, their courage is one of the major fuel of our societies.’
