Located at the heart of The Collection within The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Caramel Restaurant & Lounge Abu Dhabi provides a luxurious and opulent setting to enjoy an evening of dining, drinking and entertainment.

Caramel’s entrance combines natural wood, textured stone and marble. It is warm and inviting yet original.

We choose to sit at the long table dividing the lounge area from the dining area. The marble table is backlit with warm yellowy hues providing a fitting soft caramel glow.

Here, we are at the heart of the lounge, close enough to the fab DJ to rock to his smooth beats.

The super attentive wait staff make us feel at ease as we kick off the evening with a sparkling aperitif.

Upon the recommendation of our waiter, we try the tuna carpaccio “pizza” with ponzu mayonnaise. The tuna carpaccio, so finely sliced, sits on a wafer thin base and the combination is perfect.

We also try the Mac & Cheese bites – which are a Caramel classic – delicious and perfect to nibble while enjoying a drink.

We are bowled over by the Surf’N’Turf, particularly the quality of the beef which cooked to perfection. The sauces complement both the beef and tiger prawn beautifully.

The Caramel signature sliders are a must. The burgers are tasty, balanced and again make great lounge and bar food to enjoy while sipping fine cocktails.

We finish our meal with the exceptional Butterscotch Bomb and the Baked Alaska. Both desserts are sweet and flavoursome and round off the Caramel lounge dining experience perfectly.

Caramel’s appeal is its cool lounge atmosphere, a relaxed yet elegant venue where you are guaranteed to enjoy fine gourmet bites, smooth beats and excellent aperitifs and cocktails.

It is a firm fixture in The Luxe Diary’s list of entertainment and dining favourites.
