Luxe Diary Review Artisan Enoteca Pinchiorri

Read our review of the rather fabulous yet casually refined The Artisan by Enoteca Pinchiorri.

Subtle Parisian bistro chic meets Florentine enoteca cosy flair at The Artisan, situated in the Burj Daman building in DIFC, a stone’s throw from Burger & Lobster.

The Artisan’s setting is balanced, atmospheric, spacious but not too large. Tables, laid with the crisp white starched cloths characteristic of French fine dining and brasserie tradition, are placed at a discreet distance from each other. They are smartly dispersed throughout the room, creating a busy but not overcrowded atmosphere.

The combination of textures, furnishings and wall colours is artful, soft and rich at the same time. A gorgeous velvety blue – somewhere between Farrow & Ball’s Cook’s Blue and Pitch Blue – is complemented perfectly with light mordoré gold piping along the French-style panelled walls.

Elegance and quality resonate at The Artisan. From the art curated by Firas Fawas (The Artisan’s Managing Partner) with help from Cuadro Gallery to the creative and luxurious list of cocktails, everything echoes attention to detail and above all taste and quality. The Italian waiters speak fluently and confidently about the origins of the ingredients. You can taste the authenticity in The Artisan branded oil, for example, and the delicious burrata has its own history with the enoteca.

Each dish and originating ingredient seems to have its reason for being on the menu or an ingredient of choice.

From the apéritivo marinated olives and parmesan – a 36 month-old parmesan Reggiano with a signature Balsamic Modena vinegar – via the linguine with clams with the richest decadent bottarga, The Artisan’s signature handmade ’agnolotti’ stuffed with Mantova pumpkin, sage, butter and roasted almonds topped with parmesan fondue to the lemon tart and house Tiramisu – you can taste the colours, textures and quality of the ingredients. The wines to accompany the meal are beautifully paired. Interesting and bold recommendations of New World wines complement the food perfectly.

The success of The Artisan is really not surprising given that the Enoteca Pinchiorri has three Michelin stars and is home to some of the best chefs in the world, Annie Feolde and Giorgio Pinchiorri.

An original yet reassuringly delicious location, The Artisan is perfect for small groups and date nights but also well positioned for larger groups with its speakeasy bar feel.
